France— Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto was warmly welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron in France on Wednesday (24/7) during his visit to the Élysée Palace, France.
Prabowo’s arrival was marked by an honor guard ceremony accompanied by a marching band.
As he stepped out of his car, Macron was seen waiting for Prabowo and then approached him to offer a greeting and a warm embrace.
“Thank you, Your Excellency, for the warm welcome to Indonesia,” said Defense Minister Prabowo.
Prabowo and Macron also took a moment to exchange greetings while capturing the moment with a photograph, symbolizing the close relationship between Indonesia and France.
During this meeting, they discussed global security issues. Prabowo also extended his congratulations to France for hosting the Paris 2024 Olympics, which will take place from July 24 to August 11, 2024.
Prabowo expressed confidence that the Paris 2024 Olympics would be a success due to the cooperation of all parties, including athletes from around the world.
“We believe that this Olympics will be a great success, showcasing the extraordinary talents of athletes from around the world and bringing countries together in the true spirit of friendship and competition,” said Prabowo.
The relationship between Indonesia and France has been strong and will be further strengthened in various aspects, including the modernization of defense equipment, the defense industry, education and training, and dialogue forums.
“We appreciate Your Excellency, President Macron, for your important and active role in the success of bilateral relations between the two countries. I am confident that Your Excellency’s capacity as president will continue to maintain and enhance cooperation between Indonesia and France,” Prabowo said.
