On Monday, August 19, 2024, President Joko Widodo inaugurated several new officials within the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, including Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and Hasan Nasbi as the Head of the Presidential Communication Office. The ceremony took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, marking a crucial part of the cabinet refreshment as the 2019-2024 term nears its end.
Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, previously known as a prominent businessman and diplomat, now takes charge of investment and capital placement coordination in Indonesia. As the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, Rosan is expected to leverage his experience and expertise to enhance domestic investment flows, support economic growth, and create new job opportunities. His appointment is based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 92/P of 2024.
Meanwhile, Hasan Nasbi was appointed as the Head of the Presidential Communication Office through Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 93/P of 2024. As the head responsible for presidential communications, Hasan will play a key role in conveying government policies and programs to the public and maintaining the image and communication relations between the government and the community.
The appointment of these two figures underscores President Jokowi’s commitment to strengthening his team with individuals who possess relevant experience and capabilities in their respective fields. During the ceremony, President Jokowi led the oath of office taken by Rosan and Hasan, emphasizing the importance of integrity, responsibility, and commitment in their duties.
“I pledge loyalty to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will execute all laws and regulations faithfully for my service to the nation and state. In performing my duties, I will uphold the ethics of the office, work to the best of my abilities, and with full responsibility,” President Jokowi dictated the oath.
The inauguration event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and coordinating ministers such as Hadi Tjahjanto and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Guests also extended their congratulations to the newly appointed officials.
