Hambalang — President-elect Prabowo Subianto urged Gerindra Party members who were elected to the House of Representatives (DPR) to remain loyal to the people and the Indonesian nation. He delivered this message during a briefing to party members at the Garuda Yaksa Hall in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (September 23).
“Thank you, my comrades, as the fighters at the forefront. I thank you once again for your loyalty. Remember, serving and working for our people is the right path. We stand tall, our loyalty is to the people, to our nation,” Prabowo said.
He further clarified that this loyalty must be directed toward the people, not toward him personally. He stressed that if he ever strays from the right path, they should feel free to leave him.
“I ask you not to be loyal to me as an individual. As long as I fight for what is right, I ask for your support. But the moment you sense that I am no longer on the right path, you have my permission to leave me,” Prabowo stated.
He also reaffirmed his longstanding commitment to defend the people, particularly the poor, and uphold the honor of the Indonesian nation.
“My oath remains: I want to die for the truth. I want to die defending my people, I want to die defending the poor, I want to die defending the honor of the Indonesian nation, and I have no doubts about that,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
