President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia received a warm welcome from Indonesian citizens upon his late-night arrival in New Delhi, India. Nadine Ardiani Chairunisa, a Marketing Communication student at Amity University, eagerly awaited his arrival since 5pm along with her fellow student Demas Fadel Anggara. Despite some delays, they described the experience as exciting yet nerve-wracking. Other Indonesian citizens present, such as Rajendra, Marvell, and Adyatama, expressed their gratitude for Prabowo’s personal gesture of shaking hands with them upon arrival. They shared their hopes for a successful working visit in India and a promising future under Prabowo’s leadership.
Prabowo’s visit to India not only signifies a new chapter in bilateral relations but also commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India. Before departing from Jakarta, Prabowo expressed pride in being invited as the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, viewing it as a significant honor for Indonesia. He emphasized the participation of Indonesian TNI troops in the event, highlighting the strong bonds between the two nations. The visit also includes scheduled meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss enhancing cooperation on various strategic issues.
