On Monday (15/7), Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto personally escorted Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape to his vehicle following a visit to the Ministry of Defense. The meeting focused on the development of ideas and enhancing collaboration between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Prabowo expressed his gratitude for James’s visit to the Ministry of Defense in his capacity as the chief of state.
Prabowo escorted James to his vehicle, where the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Prabowo, the President-elect for the 2024-2029 period.
“Thank you, Mr. President-elect,” James said, exchanging pleasantries and shaking hands with Prabowo.
Prabowo also conveyed his appreciation and respect for James’s delegation and visit. He invited James to wave in front of the media while holding his arm affectionately.
“Thank you,” Prabowo expressed.
Prabowo stated that there are numerous areas in which Indonesia and Papua New Guinea can continue their cooperation following the afternoon meeting.
“There are numerous areas in which we can continue to collaborate. They are dedicated to working with us,” Prabowo said.
He further noted that the national philosophy of Papua New Guinea aligns closely with that of Indonesia.
“Our objective is to preserve positive relationships. They adhere to the same philosophy as we do. They aspire to respect all nations and all powers. We share a similar perspective regarding the importance of respecting all nations. We are not interested in participating in any blocs,” Prabowo stated.
